So 2018 has arrived.
This year, I plan to get fit and healthy. Same as every year, but this year us different. Now I need to do something for my health, and my families. I currently weigh in at 13 stone 2 (not too concerned about this number), of which a whopping 39.9% is fat. That's pretty much 40% of me, not a far cry from half of my body, is pure fat. What is that doing to my body, and what message is that sending to my daughter!
So, this year I'm going to track my progress and ask myself daily "did I do my best today to treat my body like a goddesses?", follow the lean in 15 meal plan, and write about it. Writing about it will force me to think about it. Every day. And not escape my bad days by burying them where they will only be known to me.
So, Jan 1st 2018 has started with a HIIT session, and some healthy protein pancakes with blueberries and raspberries. Feeling good so far.
I prepped a snack of sweet corn and feta fritters, for the hungry moments where I would usually turn to the quality streets, but turns out, I didn't need to, as the hunger didn't come. I made a duck salad for lunch, and a cheesy chicken, chorizo & spinach dish for dinner. The family had it alongside garlic bread and rice, and enjoyed it, so all good for this recipe.
What is clear from today, is that I will be increasing my cooking time on a daily basis, even if they are 15 minute recipes (taking me more like half an hour at the moment - I'm sure I'll speed up as I master them). I think this will be my challenge, as time is so limited.
This will be an interesting journey!!
